The following was taken from All Souls Christian Church Internation's Silver Anniversary Souvenir Book. Contributors were from the members of All Souls under the overall Head Chairperson for the Anniversary, Reginald L. Dunham (picture on far right of photo above).
As stated in the souvenir book, "In the village of Juaso in Kumasi, the Ashanti Region, the sun came up on the birth of J. Charles Opong on march 17, 1948 to the parents of Daniel and Martha Opong. Charles was the last of five children in Ghana, West Africa. Life was hard in the village, but he learned everything a man needs to know from his father." To be continued...
As this newsletter is in an attempt to help you identify what your pursuit of purpose should look like, I hope you can look inside your heart, pray to God and ask for wisdom in how to achieve your life purpose. This newsletter is intended to be interactive. You should follow this newsletter on line or communicate through email. Also, if you have a poem, a flier, or something you would like to submit for approval to share, please feel free to contact All Souls and ask to leave a message for the Editor, Princene Boyd, (me!). We want to create a reader's corner, so that you get to showcase upcoming event, especially for those that are featured in the same demographic area as All Souls.
This 1st edition focused on giving you an accurate schedule of church activity at All Souls. If you like to use facebook, there is an official All Souls Christian International page, as well as an unofficial but socially driven page, Fans of Bishop J. Charles Opong, so that you can have information that may come fast before our next publication, if needed.
Upcoming Events for All Souls...Prophet Paa Amos is coming to town! Yes, there will be more on this but for now, mark your calendars for the first week in August (around the 5th). For me this powerful young man and a true prophet of God, prophecied over my life and the accuracy was astounding...calling out my name during one of Prophet Prince Frimpong's Season of Refreshing conference last year in Torrance, California, and at All Souls right after New Year's he called out my telephone number as the spirit led him to. And do you know what? I am pursuing my purpose of WRITING now, Hallelujah! That was the prophet's message to me, that God is anointing me to write, write, write! Write anything, books, poems, scripts, this newsletter, for that is where my miracle is manifesting. See? That's what you need to do...come out and see what the prophet is stirring up in your as far as your gifts and what is the will of God for your life (which you already may know but somehow need to connect the dots).
Others may contribute here too, but as we grow, may your spirit be lifted and you find yourself sharing this newsletter to others.
